# Building Place-based push notifications

In this tutorial, we show you how to use the Radar SDKs and [Places](https://docs.radar.com/geofencing/places) to notify users when they arrive at a relevant location, without needing to create or manage geofences manually.

This is useful for any app that wants to deliver timely, location-aware experiences at specific chains or categories of places, such as retail stores, restaurants, or other points of interest.
